Launch ARTEMIS

Welcome to ARTEMIS

ARTEMIS (Art Educational Multiplayer Interactive Space) is a multiplayer educational digital resource created for undergraduate students of Art Theory, designed and developed by Monash University's Faculty of Art & Design in partnership with Millipede Creative Development. Users interact with personalities, objects, artefacts and structures related to different epochs in the history of Art and Design. Progress is quest oriented and includes live-chat, which promotes player-to-player collaboration.

How to use ARTEMIS

Log in with your desired user name. Once your customised avatar appears in the world, navigate around the environment by clicking on the area you want to move to. To progress, investigate the world by clicking on labelled hotspots, completing quizzes and collecting tokens. Monitor your progress by using your journal, which acts as a repository of information collected on your journey.

System Requirements and Technical Information

ARTEMIS requires Flash Player 9 and a broadband or faster internet connection. ARTEMIS is currently optimised for Australian users.

ARTEMIS utilises XML socket server technology in conjunction with the Adobe Flash Player platform to deliver a realtime mulitplayer experience in the form of an immersive, browser-based e-Learning environment. ARTEMIS is accessible online from any location.

Up to 100 users may be online in the ARTEMIS virtual world at any stage. Each instance of ARTEMIS supports up to four players, across any browser or geographical location.
